Paul Darnell

Paul Darnell, 77 of Dawson Springs passed away at his home March 13, 2024.

He was born September 25, 1946, in St. Charles, KY to the late Bernice C. and Willie G. Darnell.

He attended Gilland Ridge Church and loved the Lord. Paul was a proud US Army Vietnam veteran. He owned and operated D & D Excavating.

Paul will be remembered for his dedication and love to his family, his service to his country, and his passions for fishing, collecting old cars, and running his business.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Dean Darnell, Steven Dewayne Darnell; three brothers, Jack Darnell, Jimmy Darnell and Clete Darnell; two grandchildren, Hunter Rudd and Jordan Rudd.

He is survived by his wife, Crenna Darnell; five children, Rhonda Faye Darnell, Ricky Rudd “(Susan), Shawn Rudd (Kristen), Mark Mikulski (Sandy), Kirk Mikulski; five sisters, Mary Helen Hamby, Susie Wagers (EJ), Linda Bryan ( “Cowboy” Harold), Gwendella Powell, Brenda Son; one brother, Carl Darnell; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time, Monday, March 18 at the funeral home.

Bro. Donnie Neal will officiate with burial in Slaughters Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Rudd, Shawn Rudd, Brian Sizemore, Eric Underwood, Rodney “Monk” Underwood and “RO” Brasher.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jr. Darnell, Aaron Watts, Bentlee Rudd, Hayden Rudd, Austin Rudd, Tyler Campbell, Jacob Wallace, Mikey Stevens and Mark Darnell.

Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
