Paul Edward Jones

Rev. Paul Edward Jones, 78, of Robards, KY passed away 8:15 AM October 11, 2012. He was born in Houston, Arkansas on February 3, 1934, to the late Howard and Adina Jones. Rev. Jones attended Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas and Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He was an employee of Big Rivers Electric Corporation from 1965 to 1996. In addition to his career with Big Rivers Electric, he was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. Paul served as a pastor in Hartford and later served as associate pastors for both First Assembly of God in Henderson and Good Shepherd Assembly in Owensboro. Paul served on the Presbytery Board for the Assemblies of God in Kentucky from 2000 to 2008. He was named an honorary presbytery in 2012. In 2005, he was a member of the founding board of directors for Teen Challenge of Western Kentucky, Inc. and served on the board during the construction of Wing Shadow Lodge in Dixon, Kentucky. In 1995, Paul Jones was part of an investment group, which invested in downtown real estate located in Henderson, Kentucky. The investment resulted in the renovation of both the Citi-Center Office Building and the Hillyard Lyons building. In 2006 Paul received the “Heart of Downtown”. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Shirley Morgan. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Waunita (Nita) Briggs Jones, three children: Gregory P. Jones and his wife Tammy, Cynthia Lester and her husband Donald Edwin A. Jones and his wife Sarah. four grandchildren, Amber Jones Roybal, Zachery Jones, Hannah Jones and Allison Jones great grandchild Jarron Gordon 2 sisters Marty Growns and her husband Bill, Karen Shepherd and her husband Tom brother Gene Jones and his wife Cassandra. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday October 13, 2012 at Good Shepherd Church in Owensboro, KY with Rev. Joe Gridler, Rev. James Biram, and Rev. John Morris officiating. Burial services will be in Henderson, KY in the Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 PM Friday October 12, 2012 in Henderson, KY at Tomblinson Funeral Home and also 10 AM- 1 PM Saturday October 13. 2012 in Owensboro, KY at the Good Shepherd Church.
