Paul Ray Pruitt, II, 55, of Evansville, IN and formerly of Vincennes, IN, went to his heavenly home on January 20, 2020. He was born in Vincennes on August 11, 1964 to Paul Ray Pruitt, Sr. and Phyllis Mae (Pruitt) Terrell. Paul graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School where he was a successful wrestler, winning many titles and awards. He was the first person to ever represent Vincennes in a state championship. Paul, affectionately nicknamed “Little One” by his father, had many loves and interests. His absolute main love and concern was “Buster” – the sweetest bulldog ever. Paul said he was a couch potato and Buster was his little “tater tot.” They shared a special bond. He loved anything Batman and singing, especially 80’s big-hair-music. He adored 80’s rock, especially the band, KISS. He could hear a song on the radio and would almost always know the name of the song and singer, regardless of the genre of music. He was a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan, even though he “suffered” (his words) through many ups and downs and heartaches. He always stayed true to his team! He loved entertaining friends and family with a more-the-merrier attitude. Whether a pool party or simple gathering, he was a great host and made everyone feel welcome. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ray, Sr. and Phyllis Terrell; brother, David Pruitt; sister, Nancy Pruitt; niece, Crystal Pruitt; and Franklin, the bulldog. He is survived by brothers, Steve Simnick of Bloomington, IN and Greg Pruitt of Dayton, IN; sisters, Suzanne Simnick Thurman of Bloomington, IN, Sherri Tewalt of Vincennes, IN, Paula Marsh of Edwardsport, IN, Kay Self of Carlisle, IN, Karen Hovis of Washington, IN, Patsy Pruitt of Louisville, KY and Cindy Thomas of Lawrenceville, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his very special friend, Terra Beck. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 31 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel in Henderson, KY. Burial will follow at Smith Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eric Hudson, Jr., David Tewalt, Steve Tewalt, Jr., Steve Simnick, Daymond Pruiett and Kyle Pruiett. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Tomblinson Funeral Home in memory of Paul R. Pruitt, II.
