Pearl Posey

Pearl Allen Tapp Posey, 98 of Corydon Kentucky passed away April 22, 2022, at Redbanks Nursing Home. She was born in Corydon on January 18, 1924, to the late Sherley and Lorene (McClure) Tapp. She was raised on a farm in Union County that became a part of the Camp Beckenridge in WWll. Pearl graduated from Corydon High School and Lockyear Business College. She was a member of the Corydon Methodist Church for all her adult life. Pearl began working at the Henderson County Public Library when her children graduated from college and retired after 20 years of service in 1998. Vacationing every winter on Sanibel Island was one of her greatest joys. She enjoyed fishing and going to Kentucky Lake. Her greatest pleasures were cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Addison Posey; her sons Darrell Addison Posey and Richard “Rick” Posey; her brother Edwin Kerry Tapp and her grandson Stuart Addison Posey. Pearl is survived by her daughter-in-law Helen Posey; her granddaughters Leslie Posey Rideout (Ty) and Katherine Posey (Ben Skinner); great grandchildren Savannah Katherine Rideout, Brayden Rideout and Holden Addison Rideout; her nieces Shirley Wathen (Donald) and Joy Tapp; her great niece Allison Posey Horning and her great nephew Garrett Horning. A Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday May 3, 2022, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Chaplain Tim Shockley officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Corydon Methodist Church, Henderson County Public Library or St. Anthony’s Hospice.
