Ralph Phillip "Phil" Waggoner

January 25, 1942 — July 15, 2016

Phil Waggoner, 74, of Henderson passed away Friday July 15, 2016 at 8:15 AM at his residence under the care of St. Anthonys Hospice. He was born in St. Elmo, Illinois on January 25, 1942 to Ralph Benton and Edna (Wright) Waggoner. He was an IT Manager for Big Rivers from 1966-1997, Western Kentucky Energy from 1998-2009 and then retired from Big Rivers in 2010. Phil was a US Airforce Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Waggoner and sister Mary Sample. Survivors include his wife Jerry Waggoner, 2 children: Christine Cornelius and husband John of Henderson, Derrick Waggoner and wife Kathy of Louisville, 3 sisters: Lenora Bunting of Albion, Illinois, Mildred Schroeder of Grayville, Illinois, Barbara Willett of Evansville, 4 grandchildren: Britney Smith of Newburgh, Caleb Coffman of Henderson, Erin Waggoner and Kate Waggoner both of Louisville, 1 great-grandson Everett Smith and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 18, 2016 at Community Baptist Church, 1026 Pebble Creek Dr., Henderson, KY 42420. Dr. Tim Hobbs will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Community Baptist Building Fund or St. Anthonys Hospice.
