Randal Lee Bowland

Randy Lee Bowland of Henderson, KY died Thursday, February 13, at the Five-Star Mines in Petersburg, IN. Randy was born June 24, 1962 in Paducah, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: KR and Curdy Bowland and AC and Evelyn Parker. He is survived by his wife Kristie Bowland Son: Coty Bowland of Shreveport, LA Mother and Father: Don and Sue Bowland of Springfield, TN Brother: Jimmy Bowland and wife Emily of Nashville, TN Many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Randy was a very honest, hard-working, loyal and supportive friend and family member who very much loved his job at the mines and his beloved Kristie. He was a master cook with a special gift for smoked ribs, a specialty he had been perfecting for over two decades. He loved sharing this gift with friends and family alike. Randy also had a passion for flat-track motorcycle racing. This “need for speed” was also shared by his son Coty. They spent several years touring the flat-track racing circuit together as a father-son race team. Randy was also an extraordinary mechanic. He will be sorley missed. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday February 17 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 PM-6:00 PM and Monday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
