Randall “Rando” Gene Berrong, 55, of Robards passed away Tuesday June 8, 2010 at 7:25 PM at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson. He was born on March 19, 1955 to Harry Nathaniel Berrong and Mary Lee Burton Berrong in Henderson County, KY. He was an equipment operator for Henderson County Road Dept. He was a Navy Veteran and was on the Board of Directors at the Sportsmans Club in Robards, a member of Moose Lodge #732 Henderson, and American Legion Worsham Post #40 in Henderson. He also enjoyed hunting and UK basketball. He was preceded in death by his father (Jan. 2009), brother William Henry Berrong (1966) and grandparents. He is survived by his mother Mary Lee (Burton) Berrong of Sebree, KY 5 brothers: Terry Berrong of Corydon, KY Roger Berrong of St. John’s, SC Bruce Berrong of Cairo, KY Steve Berrong of Evansville, IN Robert Berrong of Owensboro, KY Nieces and nephews. Services will be Friday June 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel in Sebree, KY. Dr. Phillip Basinger will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Visitation will be Thursday June 10 from 5-8 PM and Friday June 11 from 9AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Sandy Watkins, Charles Alexander, Gene Rice, Daniel Owens, Darrel Wright, and Travis Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Henderson County Road Department Employees. Military graveside services will be conducted by Worsham Post # 40 from Henderson, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lucy Smith King Care Center.
