Randall "Randy" David Vanover, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 6, 2026, at Cypress Grove Nursing Home in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born on December 4, 1956, in Henderson, Kentucky to the late William David and Ruthie Mae (Kinkade) Vanover.
Randall lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his love for fishing and an impressive collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia, reflecting his unique spirit and appreciation for nostalgia. He found joy in simple moments, cherishing the time spent with family and friends.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and fond memories that will be carried on by his wife of 36 years, Judy Vanover, and their three daughters: Kerrie Vanover (Chris Walker), Amanda Hart, and Daphne Gentry (Dakota). Randall was the proud grandfather of six , Dillan Taylor, Corbin Belt, Allyson Williams, Kathryne Martinez-Vitales, Lilian Martinez-Vitales, and Avery Gentry-along with 13 great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy and pride; and nephew, Brian Snow.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life. Pastor Randy Durham will officiate the service. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, a final resting place where his family will carry forward his memory.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Gentry, Chris Walker, Brian Snow, Tom Walker, Mytch Williams, Jordan Walker and Lilian Martinez-Vitales.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association .
A special thanks to Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center and the staff of "The Cottage", particularly Lelita, Maeesha and Sherman, for their compassionate and special treatment of Randy. Also special thanks to Ascera Hospice Care for their guidance and kindness during this difficult time.
