Randy Phillips, 66, went home to be with his JESUS while his family was by his side, August 12, 2022 at Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, In. He was born February 17, 1956 in Henderson, Ky. to his mother Peggy Sugg-Gish and the late, his father James Waylon Phillips. Randy graduated from Henderson City High School class of 1974. He also went to trade school to be an electrician. Working with electricity was his favorite, however he worked in the oil fields and PB&S Chemical. He also was an active member of The Chapel By the River church. He had a huge love for GOD and reading his bible. He was known as Big Red or Pawpaw. While he loved fishing and camping, his biggest love and joy was his family which meant everything to him. He was always helping and giving and lit up the room with his big smile, jokes, huge hugs & handshakes. He was extremely liked and known in the community and knew no stranger; so much, they offered him a job at Walmart to be a greeter. Randy is survived by the love of his life, his sweet baby, best friend and wife of 35 years, Kathy Keene Phillips. His mother, Peggy Sugg-Gish. His children, Stephanie Phillips, Cammie Hargitt (Jason), Jennifer Phillips, Chad Glenn, Josh Gish (Krista), Andy Phillips (Jenny), Magen Phillips, and Jakiah Phillips. Grandchildren, Aaliyah Glenn, Austin Holland, Noah Allen, Daelyn Glenn, Donovan Allen, Kamya Phillips, Corbin Glenn, Madelynn Gish, Ava Phillips, Caeson Hargitt, Lane Glenn, Easton Phillips, Cassel Hargitt, Kinley Phillips and one great grandchild, Alexander Carr. Siblings are Waylon Phillips (Christy), Kathy Joyner (Randy), Kay Phillips (Robyn), and Dennis Gish. Preceded in death by his father, James Waylon Phillips and infant son Clayton Phillips. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17th at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Reed, KY. Visitation is from 10am-3pm and burial services to follow at Mt Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Glenn, Josh Gish, Andy Phillips, Jakiah Phillips, Orrie Phillips, Randy Joyner II, Thomas Travelstead, and Micheil Carr.
