Ray Lambert Floyd, 93, of Henderson, KY, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2019. He was retired from Whirlpool after 33 years then opened and ran Rays Grocery in Robards, KY for 10 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the First Methodist Church. Ray love working in the garden, enjoyed spending time with his family, and was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and UK Basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee Floyd and Mattie Ethel Moss Floyd; one sister, Ruth Woodard and Nephew, Donnie Woodard. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Margie Floyd; two sons, Kenny Floyd and wife, Linda, Bill Floyd and wife, Martha, all of Henderson, KY; four grandchildren, Jayme Floyd, Wesley Floyd and wife, Whitney, Melissa Houston, Micheal Baker and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 2, 2019, 2;00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel with Dr. James Wofford and Bro. David Latham officiating. Burial will be private.Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Crafton, Jim Crafton, Gordy Tyler, Chris Smitheart, Tom Fischer and Chad Hobgood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Albert Blanford, Hugh Walter Sellers, Norman Edwards, Ishmal Miller, Jr. and Ishmal Sellers, III. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Methodist Church, 338 3rd St., Henderson, Ky 42420 or to St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 South Green St., Henderson, KY 42420.
