Raymond "Ernie" Duncan

Raymond “Ernie” Duncan (Big E), 58 of Henderson, Ky. passed away to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer. Ernie was a light-hearted and joyous man, beloved by all who knew him. He was born on February 24, 1960 to the late Bud and Martha (Ashby) Duncan of Henderson. He graduated from Henderson County High School in 1978 where he enjoyed and excelled in sports. He still holds the Henderson County baseball record for lowest ERA in pitching at .20. He married his lifelong sweetheart, Kim (Standridge) Duncan on June 19, 1982 and faithfully followed our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 36 years.Ernie’s life has touched so many. His contagious smile and joy will be missed dearly, yet remembered always. He is survived by his loving wife Kim Duncan of Henderson; one son, Chad Duncan (Amanda Epley) of Henderson; one daughter, Brooke Duncan (Hannah Duncan) of Henderson; two grandchildren, Cameron Duncan and Emmy Duncan, both of Henderson; siblings, Rhonda Russell (Larry) of Cairo, Ky., Bill Duncan (Kathy) of Cairo, Brenda Allinder (Larry) of Poole, Ky., Gina Alvey (Mike) of Poole, Robbie Duncan (Trina) of Poole; his mother-in-law, Martha (Mills) Standridge; sisters-in-law, Tami Chambers (Larry), Veronica Chapman, Shawn Standridge Beavin; 25 nieces and nephews; and 32 great nieces and nephews.Ernie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bud and Martha (Ashby) Duncan; his father-in-law, Ronald Standridge; and brother-in-law, W. Scott Chapman. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home of Henderson with Pastor Todd Linn officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Louis Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2018 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home of Henderson.
