Rebecca June Wabnitz

Rebecca June (Curtis) Wabnitz, of Nortonville, KY returned home to be with her Lord June 19, 2009. Born January 28, 1948 Becky was raised in Cumberland County, Kentucky with her 11 brothers and sisters. She treasured family and marked the raising of her own four children as her greatest achievement. Becky was married to Glen Wabnitz for forty years. As a homemaker she helped raise many children in the community. She was a member of the Mortons Gap Christian Church for 30 years. She was the center of her family and was a mama to the very end. She was brave and never gave up hope. Becky is survived by her loving husband, Glen. Children Brent Crawley (Pam) of Paducah, KY; Chris Crawley Amy of Nortonville, KY; Tammie Akers of Paducah, KY; Marty Wabnitz of Nortonville, KY. Siblings, Ed Curtis of Memphis, TN; Terry Curtis (Jo) of Jeffersonville, IN; Buddy Curtis (Pat) of Shelbyville, KY; Elizabeth Wilson of Dubree, KY; and Shirley Nash (Gene) of Greencastle, IN. and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Dewey and Pearl Curtis; Grandson Austin Curtis; sisters; Hilda & Helen Curtis; and Joan Reynolds; brothers, Kervin, Dale and Bobby Curtis sister in law, Itsuko Curtis, two brother-in-laws, Sonny Wilson and Charles Reynolds and one niece Lisa McCay. Mom, “we’ll love you forever and like you for always, as long as we’re living our mama you’ll be”. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY. Bro. Garry Hill will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hosptial.
