Rhonda Katherine Bumpus

With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of, Rhonda Katherine Bumpus, who took her last breath with her loving family by her side, on February 27, 2026, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital. She was born April 09, 1962, in Waverly, KY to the late Thomas Claude Willett and Mary Alberta Price.

Rhonda fought a long, courageous battle with her chronic illness. Despite facing health changes, she never lost her incredible spirit, humor, or deep devotion to her family. She taught her family the meaning of resilience, navigating her illness with grace and strength. Her final moments were filled with love, comfort, and with her loved ones by her side, holding her hands.

Family was everything to Rhonda. She shared 25 years of marriage with her late husband, James Bumpus, and was the proud, loving mother of Misty, April, and Chris. Her grandchildren, Tre, Jazzy, Brooklynne, Zaylah, Zakia, Zaxton, Duncan, and Reece were her world. They brought her so much joy and laughter. She always said her family was her reason for wanting to live, and she fought until her last breath.

Rhonda is survived by her three children: Misty (Thomas) Hayden, April Willett (Von Turner), Christopher (Amanda) Willett; eight grandchildren: Tremayne, Jazilyn, and Brooklynne Hayden, Zaylah, Zakia, and Zaxton Willett, Duncan and Reece Willett, all of Henderson, KY; four sisters: Ruth Goodwin and Kimberly Powell of Henderson, KY, Betty Greenwell and Theresa Farthing of Sturgis, KY; four brothers: William, Michael, and James Willett of DeKoven, KY, Gary Willett of Sullivan, KY, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Rhonda was preceded in death by her three sisters: Annette Willett, Mary Powell, and Anne Shelton, and five brothers: Rudy, Bernie, Steve, David, and Kenneth Willett.

Services will be at 2 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects at these times.
