Richard L. O'Nan

Richard L. O’Nan, 75 of Henderson passed away Tuesday August 12, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Henderson on March 2, 1939 to Ora and Margaret (Reid) O’Nan. Richard was a retired Field Service Manager for Whayne Supply and a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple. He was a beloved husband and father who loved cooking, especially burgoo. Richard also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers John Thomas O’Nan and William Loman O’Nan and 1 sister: Wilda Lett. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Janet O’Nan 4 Children: Brian O’Nan of Henderson Sandy Pendergraft of Henderson Julie Denton of Webster County Brent O’Nan of Henderson 2 Brothers: Harold O’Nan of Henderson Jim O’Nan of Tampa, Florida 9 Grandchildren: Brannon Pendergraft, Rudy Harvey, Carissa Haire, Tanner Gibbs, Amber Pendergraft, Jayci Gibbs, Zachary Denton, Shelby O’Nan and Brent Thomas O’Nan II 1 Great-grandchild: Caroline Pendergraft Nieces and Nephews Services will be 1:00 PM Friday August 15, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Ken Gazaway will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 3-8PM and Friday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hopsice or IBT Mission Fund. Pallbearers will be Brannon Pendergraft, Rudy Harvey, Zachary Denton, Doug Stone, Jason Stone, Trent Williams, Ronnie Burleson, Greg Duckworth.
