Rita Ann (Herron) Duncan, 74 of Slaughters passed away July 17, 2018 at her residence under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. She was born August 23, 1943 in Webster County to the late Cranson Matthew and Jimmie (Brooks) Herron. Rita was a member of Slaughters Baptist Church and had retired from Webster County School System as a teacher’s aide, she was also a member of the Gideons Auxillary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Wallace Duncan, daughter; Wendy Duncan, two sisters; Elsie Couch and Vada Ranes, brother; Norman Herron. She is survived by three children; Cindy Goff and her husband Jimmy of Slaughters, KY, Lisa Jackson and her husband Jeff of Biloxi, MS, Matt Duncan and his wife Dawn of Louisville, KY, seven grandchildren; Jennifer Clark (Brandon), Barbara McIntosh, Leslie Brown (Jeremy), Joshuah Jackson (Amy), Josef Jackson, Haley Duncan, Harper Duncan, nine great-grandchildren; Hayden and Hannah Clark, Mackenzie McIntosh, Melanie, James and Mia Brown, Caroline and Aedan Jackson, Declan Jackson (due in November), nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, July 21, 2018 at Slaughters Baptist Church. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 5:00 PM-9:00 PM and Saturday, 1:00 PM until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Logan Goff, Joshuah Jackson, Josef Jackson, Brandon Clark, Hayden Clark, Jeremy Brown and David Shemwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Harper Duncan, Haley Duncan, Hannah Clark, James Brown, Melanie Brown, Mia Brown, Mackenzie McIntosh, Caroline Jackson and Aedan Jackson. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideons International, Slaughters Baptist Church or St. Anthony’s Hospice. Tomblinson Funeral Home in Sebree is handling arrangements.
