Robert "Buck" Joe Lacer

Robert “Buck” Lacer, 72 of Spottsville passed away March 19, 2021 at Lucy Smith King Hospice Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Buck was born in Henderson County to the late Robert Elden and Mary Louise (Driskill) Lacer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reed and a Quality Control Tech for Alcan. Buck loved to go camping in his RV to Florida and spend time with his family. He was a lifetime member of the original Mt. Cur association in Crossville TN, avid bow hunter, wrote poetry and was the 1971 Kentucky State Champion for open target bow shooting. At age 59 he retired and started to make his own long bows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Judy Varble. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Vicki Key Lacer of 54 years; his children Penny Jo Phelps (Matt) and Robert Macklin Lacer (Amanda); his siblings, Peggy Christison (Elbridge), Mary Wendy Sherman (Tom), Darlene Smithhart (Butch), Darrell Lacer (Yvette) and Elden Dwayne Lacer (Rana); grandchildren, Robert Phillip Phelps and Lillian Katherine Lacer; step grandchildren Beau Phelps and Macy Phelps and his great granddaughter Penelope Phelps. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday March 22, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reed Kentucky with Father John Ighacho officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM Sunday March 21, 2021 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Sonny Evans, Robert Phillip Phelps, Matt Phelps, Butch Smithhart, Chad Lacer, Nick Beaver, and Bryce Beaver.Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Lacer, Elden Dwayne Lacer, Tom Sherman, Elbridge Christison, Ralph Baker, Rick Morisan, and Ben Sanders.
