At the age of 82, Robert (Bob) Garrett of Henderson, KY left this earth to play with big leagues in heaven. Also known as Bob-Dog by the Henderson County Lady Colonels that he coached. His passion was softball. At one time Bob was known as one of the best fast softball pitchers in the tri-state. In 1983 Bob was inducted into Softball Hall of Fame. He retired from Whirlpool where he worked as a security guard and he was a member of Advance Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father; Harold Garrett and his mother and step father; Ophia and Chester Kuehn, 3 sisters; Linda Emery, Charoltte Herbert and Patty Hertwick, 2 brothers; Marion Garrett and David Garrett, 2 sons; Tommy Kortz and Mark Garrett. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Phyllis Garrett 5 children: Bobby Garrett, Bobby Kortz, Billy Kortz, Robert Martinez and Jacqui Gregory Knuckles his dog and best friend 2 sisters: Jeanette Brinker Chestine Kuester Daughter in law: Donna Garrett Grandchildren: Christa Schriber, Dustin Collins, Bret Yates, J. D. Kortz, Katie Kortz, Sara Kortz, Jamie Mitchell-Oglesby, Keevia Price, Robert Garrett and Ukiah Garrett. Great-Grandchildren: Dylan Potoka, Matthew Schriber, Kinsey Yates, Lake Yates, Alexandra Yates, Landon Price, Keeara Hicks, Alexanderia Oglesby, Keele Mitchell and Justice Mitchell. Services will be 12:30 PM Wednesday March 23 at Advance Baptist Church in Baskett. Pastor Brian Parrish will officiate. Burial will be at Baskett Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel and Wednesday 11:00 AM until service time at Advance Baptist Church.
