Robert A. Omer

Robert A. “Slick” Omer, 58 of Madisonville, KY passed away at 9:26 PM Friday August 28, 2009 at his home. He was born in DeKoven, KY on August 17, 1951 to the late Joseph and Catherine (Campbell) Omer. He was a 36 year employee of General Electric in Madisonville where he was active in the GE Volunteer Organization for Community Service. He was also an avid golfer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Billy Joe Omer and David Glen Omer. He is survived by his wife Diana J. (Lewis) Omer Son; Michael and wife Melissa Dyer of Dawson Springs, KY Two grandchildren; Mindy and Hunter Dyer Two brothers; Richard (Billie) Omer of Richmond, KY Roger (Cheryl) Omer of Ft. Worth, TX Four sisters; Eleanor (Gene) Kessler of Sidney, OH June Flint of Caseyville, KY Brenda (Jerry) Stevens of Sturgis, KY Deanna Ford of Evansville, IN Two sisters in law; Paulette (Dennis) Jones of Hanson, KY Charlotte (Jerry) Whitsell of Madisonville, KY Brother in law; Gary Lewis of Nebo, KY Aunt; Ruth Ames of Morganfield, KY Several nieces, nephews and cousins Service will be held Wednesday September 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel. Rev. A. B. Ortt will officiate. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Madisonville,KY Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 and Wednesday from 12:00 until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mahlon Crowley, Randy Kingery, Jerry Whitsell, Dennis Jones, Larry Camplin and Jerry Stevens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Ipock, Bruce Jones, and Tom Logan.
