Robert Eugene “Bob” Sweeney Sr., 78, of Henderson was called home to be with his Lord on Thursday January 2, 2014 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Henderson County on January 3, 1935 to John and Verna Sweeney. Bob was a Mechanic at Century Aluminum and a member of First Baptist Church in Henderson. He was also a US Army veteran and a member of the Antique Car Club. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife Lelia Sweeney 2 Sons: Bobby Sweeney Jr. of Henderson Jon Sweeney and wife Lori of Harrisonville, PA 3 Daughters: Carol Kyle Julie Miller Cheri Hill all of Henderson 1 Sister: Marilyn Dickerson and husband Leroy of Dawson Springs, KY 8 Grandchildren: Robert Allen Dean, Daniel Kyle, Josh Sweeney, Matthew Sweeney, Megan Poeg, Olivia Sweeney, Kayelyn Hill and Nicky Hill 2 Great-grandchildren: Sophia “Luvie” Dean and Oliver Poeg His close family of In-laws And many brothers and sisters in Christ Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Jim Trader and Rev. Alan Chamness will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard. Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice, Riverview School, Women’s Addiction Recovery Manor, or Henderson County Jail Ministry.
