Robert E. Thompson

Robert E. Thompson, 91, of Evansville IN passed away at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center the morning of February 1, 2020. He served in the Navy for 23 years as a Chief Warrant Officer.  He then moved to Evansville IN where he enjoyed watching the Evansville Aces basketball and watching the horses race at Ellis Park.   He retired from M&S Fire and Safety where he worked for 10 years. Bob was preceded in death by parents Cleo and Robert Thompson, Sr., brothers Harry M. Thompson, William H. Thompson and Tommy Thompson. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Emma Gene (Shelton) Thompson of Evansville IN, sisters; Anna Ruth Patrick, of Horn Lake MS, Barbara “Jody” Resnik of Marion IL, Brothers; Don (Mary Ann) Thompson of Wilmington NC, Richard (Barbara) Thompson of Marion IL, Ralph (Lee) Thompson of Marion IL, Step sons: Orville “OJ” (Dorita) Eastwood of Gilbertsville KY, James Wilhite of Evansville IN, 4 grandkids and 8 great-grandkids. Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday February 15, 2020 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.  Bro. Bill Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Evansville, IN with full military honors conducted by the Navy Honor Guard. Visitation will be Saturday morning 9:30AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jason Eastwood, Chris Eastwood, Robert Eastwood, Chad Erickson, Logan Erickson and Curt Hardison.  Honorary pallbearer will be Kara Erickson.
