Spottsville

Ronald Keith Pedersen Sr (Ron, Ronnie), 73, of Spottsville, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026 at home, peacefully in his sleep.

He was born in Henderson on August 21, 1952, to Robert and Betty (Graham) Pedersen.

Ron spent his adult life working at DSM Engineering in Evansville. 39 years with the company and the bulk being in the maintenance department and eventually running the tool room. In his younger days, Ron was known for being a hunter and an outdoorsman. As he aged, the hunting slowed, but the love of guns never left. He spent many an off day searching Whittaker's for his next piece of the collection. After they retired, Ron and Linda spent most of their free time camping and exploring the region for local food gems. The man could also watch old westerns on repeat. He would also want you to know he loved American History and Kentucky Basketball more than anything other than his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his beloved aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Linda Pedersen; six children, Doug Hargrove (Krystal) of Morganfield, KY, Becky Dowell (Kevin) of Marion, KY, Erin (Deron) Stewart of Evansville, IN, Ronald "Keith" (Erika) Pedersen Jr. of Malacatos, Ecuador, Chris (Amy) Carmon of Owensboro, KY, and Cory (Megan) Pedersen of Evansville, IN; 13 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 3 younger sisters, Rhonda (Paul) Holbrook of Evansville, IN, Roxanne Montgomery and Rochelle (Kevin) Carter of Henderson, KY; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for any friends and family will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, at Wellspring Community Worship Center at 700 N 12th Ave, Evansville, IN 47712.

The family would like to thank nurses and staff of Deaconess Midtown, especially Katelyn Tuley, as well as his hospice nurse Lindsey Thompson and everyone from St. Anthony's Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions in Ron's name to New Hope Animal Rescue in Henderson, or the Evansville Wartime Museum.
