Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Wilkerson

Ronald “Ronnie” Edward Wilkerson, 80, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his residence under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. He was born October 27, 1940 in Henderson to the late Orville and Margie Wilkerson. Ronnie had worked several years in Henderson as a fireman and often played Santa at the firehouse for the children.  He retired from the Presbyterian Church as the maintenance supervisor and served in the U.S. Marines.  He was a musician, a songwriter, and his greatest joy was teaching music to his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brennon E. Wilkerson; sister, Betty Wilkerson; and brothers, Donnie Wilkerson and Kenny Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife of  59 years, Judy Wilkerson; five children, Rod Wilkerson (Ashley) of Owensboro, Randy Wilkerson of Owensboro, Richie Wilkerson (Christy) of Henderson, Rob Wilkerson (Angela) of Florida and Jennifer Daniel (Michael) of Henderson; two brothers, Mike Wilkerson (Judy) and Tim Wilkerson (Karren), all of Henderson; nine grandchildren, Josh Wilkerson (Laura), Isaac Wilkerson (Elizabeth), Ryan Wilkerson, Sara Wilkerson, Shelby Wilkerson, Addison Daniel, Cody Morris, Cameron Lyons and Alex Lyons; and one great granddaughter, Zoey Wilkerson. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with John Hodge and Tim Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, September 27 from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 28 from 9-11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Anthony’s Hospice and Riverview School.
