Rose Lee McGuire

June 25, 1939 — February 25, 2026

With heavy hearts and joyous memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Rose Lee McGuire, who transitioned to a peaceful rest on February 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on June 25, 1939, in Corydon, Kentucky, she was a shining light and a treasured daughter of the late Frederick and Rosie (Posey) Brooks.

Rose leaves behind a legacy of love as she is survived by her devoted children, Marilyn McGuire and Charles McGuire, her adoring granddaughter Kisha McGuire, and her great-granddaughter Shayla McGuire. She is also remembered fondly by her nephew, cousins, and a multitude of friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

She attended 7th Street Baptist Church, Rose inspired all around her with her unwavering faith and compassion. She delighted in life's simple pleasures, from tackling crossword puzzles to indulging in her favorite shopping trips. However, it was the bond she shared with her granddaughter and great-granddaughter that filled her heart with unparalleled joy.

Although we will miss her dearly, we find comfort in knowing that Rose is reunited with her loving husband, the late Letcher McGuire, and has joined her siblings Lazarus Brooks, Booker T. Brooks, Thornton Brooks, F.D. Brooks, Magnolia Dixon, and her niece Delores Dixon in eternal rest.

A private graveside service will held at Fernwood Cemetery at a later date.

In this time of remembrance, we invite all to join us in celebrating Rose Lee McGuire-not just for her quiet strength, but for the immeasurable love she freely shared with everyone she encountered. Her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her, inspiring us to cherish one another just as she did.
