Smith King Hospice Center in Henderson. Roy G. Farmer, 87 of Henderson, KY passed away at 12:40 PM Friday March 25, 2011 at Lucy He was born in Owensboro, KY on April 12, 1923 to the late Lloyd and Ola (Kirk) Farmer. He was a retired cable repairman for South Central Bell, a Telephone Pioneer and formerly served as Steward for the CWA. He was a WWII Army veteran and a Navy reserve veteran and a member of the VFW post 696 in Owensboro, a KY Colonel and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Carrie Farmer, 2 brothers; L. D. Farmer and Earl Farmer and 2 sisters; Jean Bivens and Maxine Hagan. He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Wilma E. Farmer 2 sons and daughter in laws; Bob and Brenda Farmer of Henderson Roy and Terry Farmer of Henderson 2 brothers; Lowell Allen Farmer of San Antonio, TX Jimmy Farmer of Owensboro, KY Sister; Mary Ann Frost of Caldwell, ID 7 Grandchildren and spouses; Bryan (Lori) Farmer, Steve (Nikki) Farmer, Kevin (Lisa) Farmer, Matt Farmer, David (Jessica) Farmer Patrick Farmer and Jenny (Mark) Thurner. 10 Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday March 28, 2011 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Todd Linn will officiate. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Owensboro, KY with full military rites. Visitation will be Sunday March 27, 2011 from 2:00 until 7:00 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel (First and Green) in Henderson, KY and Monday from 8:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
