Ruenell Brooks

Ruenell Dunville Brooks, 94, passed away at NHC Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY on Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016. Ruenell was born on October 14, 1921 in Onton, Kentucky. She married Marshall Brooks in 1939, and they lived in Slaughters most of their lives. Ruenell was a member of the Slaughters United Methodist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall, her parents, Clarence and Ellen Luck Dunville, one son, Roger Earl, one great-grandson, Benjamin Rollett, and one brother, Ben Dunville. Survivors include her children: Marshall Ray (Anna Laura) Brooks of Louisville, KY Freda (Deway) Carver of Onton, KYDavid (Louise) Brooks, Slaughters, KYRita Major Dent both of Slaughters, KY Sister: Glee Nance of Slaughters, KY Brother: Clarence Junior Dunville of Hanson, KY 9 grandchildren 22 great-grandchildren 4 great-great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews. Services will be on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters Hanson Chapel. Pastor Wayne Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4-7 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to Slaughters Cemetery Fund.
