Russell "Buddy" Pearcy

Russell L. “Buddy” Pearcy, 91 of Henderson passed away January 22, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born June 22, 1926 in Henderson to Drury Russell and Hallie (Keach) Pearcy. Russell was a farmer and a member of Zion Baptist Church where he was known as the “Candyman” He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Joyce Pearcy, sisters; Cornelia Ashby and Izetta Parrish, grandson; Michael Cobb and great granddaughter; PresLeigh Pearcy. He is survived by 3 children; Candace Risley (Jeff) Paulette Cobb (Gary) and Jerry Pearcy (Gale) all of Henderson County, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, 2:00 PM at Zion Baptist Church. Dr. Dan Garland will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson and Thursday, 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be David Mays, James Beckley, Larry Parrish, Russ Pearcy, Joey Pearcy and Bryan Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Monte Parrish and Jay Cobb. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
