Sammie Lee Majors

Sammie Lee Majors, 83 of Henderson, KY died on Saturday July 1, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY. He was born in Mannington, KY on April 16, 1934 to the late Ammon Majors and Ellen Howton Powell. He was a retired rail worker for CSX Transportation.  He was a member of Henderson Moose Lodge #732 and a Kentucky Colonel.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son; Randy Majors, 3 brothers; William Majors, Leon Powell, and Mark Majors, and his sister; Jimmie Jenkins.  He is survived by his wife; Phyllis Gibbs Majors of Henderson, KY, 3 sons; Larry Majors, Bud (Kim) Majors, and Steve (Deborah) Majors all of Henderson, 4 daughters; Valda (Bill) Carr of Berea, KY, Kay (Scott) Hogan of Henderson, KY, Jo Adams of Henderson, KY and Kathy (Jason) Du of Bellefontaine, OH, his brother Gene (Imogene) Powell, his sister; Sue (Dennis) Durbin all of Henderson, KY, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Funeral Services will be on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Bro. Keith Griffin will officiate.  Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm and on Thursday from 10 am until service time.  Pallbearers will be Larry Majors, Bud Majors, Steve Majors, Gene Powell, Carl Buckman, and Wynn Stone.
