Sharon Jeanette Yates, 78, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Redbanks Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Henderson on January 21, 1942 to late Sterling “Red” and Marguerite (Utley) Griffin. Sharon was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 441. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her family was her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Yates, sister Etta Warner, 3 brothers James “Jim” Griffin, William “Bill” Griffin, Francis “Kenny” Griffin and Grandson Frank Elmo Chandler III. Survivors include 2 daughters Valerie Stone, Tina Chandler (Frank), 1 son Mike Yates (Angel Coots) all of Henderson, 1 Sister Ann Holderfield of Robards, 4 brothers Tom Griffin of Henderson, Sterling Griffin of Cairo, Walter Griffin (Carolyn) of Reed, Gary Griffin (Terri) of Henderson, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be private with Bro. Frank Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Todd, Nick Chandler, Michael Yates, Chris Chandler, Jeremiah Whitledge and Michael Langston. Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
