Shaun Olson

Shaun Douglas Olson, 56, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his home.

Born on December 4, 1969, in Davenport, Iowa, Shaun was the son of the late Richard Carlson and Marlene Olson. He graduated from Henderson County High School in 1988 and later attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Shaun began his career with Ohio Valley Marine, where he worked as a deckhand and tankerman before earning his pilot's license. He later joined Evansville Marine Service, where he dedicated 31 years of service. During the last 10 years of his career, he worked in the office, where he was respected by his coworkers and friends.

Shaun was a proud member of Jerusalem Masonic Lodge No. 9 in Henderson.

Above all, Shaun was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Wendy Olson; three daughters, Olivia (Jason) Salup, Cien (Leah) Camp, and Emma Olson, all of Henderson; one son, Emmett Olson of Henderson; three grandchildren, Maddox Elliott, Natalie Elaine, and Jaxon Alexander; one sister, Dawn Knapp (Steve) of Anchorage, Alaska; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Shaun's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, Kentucky.
