Shirley Ann Gregg

Shirley Ann (Gobin) Gregg, 78 of Henderson passed away Sunday December 4, 2016 at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. She was born in Henderson on February 9, 1938 to Arthur Daniel Gobin and Fannie Lorene (Burklow) Brandow. Shirley retired from the State of Kentucky as a toll collector on the Audobon Parkway after 22 years of service and was a previous employee of Methodist Hospital. She was a member of Airline Baptist Church and also enjoyed drawing, puzzles, music and taking trips. She was an avid dancer and roller skater in her younger years as well as a swim teacher. What brought her the most happiness was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son Kelly D. Kyle, step-father Henry S. Brandow, 1 sister Geraldine Mitchell and cousin Joann Despain. Survivors include 2 children Linda K. Holmes and husband John D. of Spottsville, Holly D. Hust of Georgetown, Kentucky, 1 sister Ona L. Vanover of Henderson, 4 grandchildren Dr. Amy Spicer Henry and husband Dr. Daniel Henry, Katie Hust Samson and husband Raymond, Dr. Joshua B. Holmes and wife Laura and Daniel Kyle. Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Dr. Nathan Whisnant will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-8PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dr. Daniel Henry, Sherman Butch Mitchell, Daniel Kyle, Matt Stinson, Dr. Joshua Holmes and Raymond Samson.
