Steven Paul Fowler, age 68, passed on February 8, 2024 at his residence in Henderson, Kentucky.
Paul was born September 14, 1955 in Frankfort, KY to the late Bill and Mabel (Martin) Fowler. The family lived in Selma, AL, Paducah, KY, and Union City, TN before moving to Beaver Dam. He graduated from Ohio County High School, attended West Kentucky University in Bowling Green and graduated from Brescia University in Owensboro. Although Paul lived in Georgia for a short period of time, he spent most of his life in Henderson.
In the Fowler tradition, Paul was a gifted musician. He excelled playing acoustic guitar and spent his earlier years composing and performing in various venues. His favorite composer was Walter Becker, his favorite performer Neil Young—perhaps because his voice had a quality reminiscent of Neil’s.
Paul was also a fisherman. Like his father and brother, he spent many hours by the water, enjoying the solitude and peace of nature.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his brother Mark Wayne Fowler.
He is survived by his sister Nancy Brinker and her husband Doug, their children—Haley Tucker, Allison Ward and Nathaniel Brinker, and grandchildren—Ruby, Leo and Milo Tucker.
There will be a private burial. Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel, is entrusted with arrangements.
