Steven Daniel Gill

Steven Daniel Gill, 58, of Fort Wayne, IN, originally of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Majestic Care of Fort Wayne. He was born in Evansville on March 23, 1962 to the late William E. and Martha (Cummings) Gill. He graduated from North High School in Evansville, class of 1980. As a teenager, Steven traveled to Puerto Rico on a mission trip to help build an elementary school. He enjoyed reading about science and do-it-yourself books. He was self-employed in the cleaning and window washing business until he was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his mid-twenties. Steven shared this diagnosis with his mother, whom he cared for over 30 years. During this time, he was rewarded certificates of achievement from HVAC and auto mechanics from EVSC. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, William “Rocky” Gill (Angie) of Evansville; sister, Ann Gibson of Altamonte Springs, FL; and his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, Jill Gibson, Melissa Gill-West, William David Gill, and Neil Gibson. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 21 at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. from 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 21 at the funeral home.
