Sue Gayle Sawyer, 66, of Henderson passed away Sunday June 29, 2014 at 3:26 AM at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. She was born in Henderson on June 22, 1948 to John Odell and Rubenia (Adams) Sawyer. Sue was a private sitter and attended New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Martha Dean Tapp. Survivors include 4 brothers: Starling Sawyer and wife Mary Lloyd Sawyer and wife Betty Robert Sawyer and wife Willa Mae Silas Sawyer and wife Linda all of Henderson Several nieces and nephews Services will be noon Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Barry Skaggs and Bro. Dan Curry will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Sawyer, Mark Sawyer, Henry Sawyer, Chase Wicker, Phillip Smith and Bubby King. In memory the honorary pallbearer will be Danny Sawyer. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice or New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church.
