Suellen Douglas, 86, of Kuttawa, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Lucy Smith King Care Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born in McLeansboro, Illinois, on September 1, 1940. Suellen was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kuttawa and worked as a legal secretary.
She loved sitting on her back deck overlooking Lake Barkley and watching and cheering on UK in basketball and football. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her lifelong friends and treasured the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon Douglas; daughter, Tara Morgan; siblings, Sharon Kinkade and Billy Sims; and lifelong sister-friends, Ginny Thomas and Pat Wilson.
Suellen is survived by her son, David Holeman (Kim); grandchildren, Abby Ousley (Cole), Cameron Holeman, Chelsea McGahee (Daniel Pendergraft), Lydia McGahee-Payne (Todd), and Shannon McGahee (Adam Blythe); and great-grandchildren, Alayna Hall, Summer Pendergraft, Julia Blythe, and Nora Blythe.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kuttawa, with Pastor Baxter Boyd officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Lucy Smith King Care Center for the loving care provided to Suellen.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
