Susie Nadine Fraser

Susie Nadine Johnson Fraser age 91 of Madisonville, KY passed away at 4:00 PM Tuesday May 18, 2010 at the Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital in Peoria, IL. She was born June 17, 1918 in McLean County to Archer Lee and Sally Howard Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Earlington United Methodist Church and graduated from the Calhoun High School in 1936. She married Rev. Alan Laban Fraser on September 22, 1942. The wife of a Methodist minister, she was involved in the work of the church in general and specifically with W.S.C.W., the Women's Organization of the Methodist Church. She was active in that capacity for 34 years before retiring to Nebo, KY where she and her husband spent many years enjoying their grandchildren and gardening. She was a pianist and a very good seamstress, making many outfits for her grandchildren. She had lived at the Paragon for the last five years and was active and independent into her 90's. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. A. L. Fraser in 1999, one infant daughter Sharon Fraser and one son Robert Wayne Fraser. She is survived by one son Gaylon Fraser and his wife Edie of Peoria, IL, one daughter in law Sue Fraser of Hagerhill, KY, three grandchildren Elizabeth Cruz and her husband Rick of Chicago, IL, Emily Fraser of Chicago, IL and Derek Fraser and his wife Liz of Green Cove Springs, Fl, three great grandchildren Julia Fraser, Benjamin Fraser and Noah Cruz. Her funeral will be at 11:00 AM Saturday May 22, 2010 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington with Pastor Marty Martinez officiating. Her burial will be in Pleasant Hope Church Cemetery in McLean County near Calhoun. Her visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday May 21, 2010 and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Earlington United Methodist Church.
