Suzan Leigh Mitchell

Suzan Leigh Mitchell, 68, of Henderson, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving son Chris, under the compassionate care of Redbanks Nursing Home and St Athony’s Hospice.

Suzan was born in Henderson, Kentucky, to Bobby Ward and Betty (Qualls) Jenkins. She had a zest for life, finding her greatest joy in her family, particularly in spoiling her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Butch Mitchell; her son Aaron Mitchell; and her brother Monty Ward.

Suzan is survived by her son Christopher “Chris” Mitchell (Danielle); her mother, Betty Jenkins; her brother Randy Ward (Tracey); sister-in-law Martha Ward; grandchildren Dylan Mitchell and Charlee Mitchell; and nieces and nephews Allison Conner, Melissa Allinder, Tyler Ward, Jackson Ward, and Ellie Ward.

Visitation for friends and family to pay their respects will be held from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice or the Redbanks Hospice Unit, in honor of Suzan’s memory and the exceptional care she received.

Suzan will be remembered for her kindness, her deep love for her family, and the happiness she shared with everyone around her. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
