Teri Lee Thompson

November 5, 1958 — January 29, 2018

Teri Lee Thompson, age 59, went to her eternal home at 11:50 am on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Henderson Methodist Hospital.  Teri was born on November 5, 1958 to Virgil L. Thompson and Martha (Hager) Wilson, who preceded her in death.  Teri graduated from Henderson County High School in 1976.  She graduated from Brescia College in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology.  She spent several years as a social worker, initially at Welborn Baptist, then with River Valley Behavioral Health, and later worked as a compassionate care giver for elderly patients.  She was a life-long member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  She was passionate about music and was a gifted guitar player.  Teri loved to laugh and maintained a great sense of humor through good times and bad.  She had a fierce love for her family.  Teri was a kind and loving Christian with a generous heart.  She was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand, and touched many lives.   This quote sums up her life perfectly.  “Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”In addition to her parents, Teri was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil (“Lenny”) Thompson, Jr. and her step-father, Robert Wilson.  Her survivors include her son, Robert Gibbs and grandchildren, Claire Jean Gibbs, Trevor Sternaman, and Nicholas Zablocki of Winamac, Indiana; sisters, Tina Thompson Farley of Henderson, and Toni Thompson Adams (Bryan) of Olathe Kansas, brother, John D. Kolb (Lisa) of Louisville, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.Friends and relatives are invited to Teri’s celebration of Life from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Thursday, February 1st at Tomblinson Funeral Home.  A funeral mass will be held Friday, February 2nd, at 10:00a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson, KY.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.tomblinsonfuneralhome.com .
