Terry Yvonne Griffin

Terry Yvonne Griffin, 68 of Henderson, Kentucky lost her short battle with cancer May 8, 2022 surrounded by her beloved family. Terry was born June 5, 1953 in Gary, IN to the late Walter Earl “Sonny” Sandefur and Ethal Mae “Nonnie” Austin. Terry was a hairdresser for many years before going to work for GRITS Transportation for 17 years. She loved getting to know her people as she transported them to and from their appointments. Terry was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 441 for many years. Terry’s many hobbies included spoiling her grandbabies, gardening, crocheting and jewelry making, making t-shirts with her daughter, and helping with the family business with her husband and daughter making custom cups. She also loved her fur baby Axel. In addition to her parents, Terry is preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter Danielle Jo “D.J” Griffin. Terry is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Gerald Wayne “ Gary” Griffin Sr.; 5 children Gerald “Wayne” Griffin, Jr. (Dana) of Robards, Benjamin Ray “Benjie” Griffin (Tara) of Henderson, Melody Yvonne Griffin of Henderson, Zacharey Stanley Griffin (Lindsey) of Sullivan, IN, Cody Daniel Griffin (Katelyn) of Brazil, IN; grandchildren Alisha Brantley, Tyler Griffin, Harley Wilkinson, Riley Griffin, David Altmeyer, Carrie Abrel (Carter), Alex Griffin, Brody Collins, Bailey Griffin, Zacharey Griffin, Jalee Griffin, Paisley Griffin, Avery Griffin, Ella Griffin; 3 great-grandchildren Caiden Heck, Addilynn Mueller, Cameron “C.J.” Abrel. She is also survived by her brother Ray Sandefur (Cathy) of Henderson; sister Shannon Martin of Henderson; brother-in-laws Tom Griffin, Sterling Griffin, Vaun Warner, Walter Griffin (Carolyn) and sister-in-law Ann Holderfield; many nieces and nephews and many many kids that called her mom and mamaw. Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday May 11, 2022 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Bro. Frank Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 and Wednesday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Harley Wilkinson, Tyler Griffin, Riley Griffin, David Altmeyer, Marion Clay “Peanut” Jones, Kenny Miller, Stephen Kohl and Craig Whitinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex, Brody, Jalee, Bailey and Caiden. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
