Thelma (Seaton) Austin, 87 of Slaughters passed away at 8:20 PM Tuesday March 17, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 7, 1921 in Ashbyburg, KY to James U. and Pearl (McCormick) Seaton. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church in Slaughters, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband John Austin, her parents, 3 brothers; Douglas, Morton and Milan Seaton, 4 sisters; Lottie Riggs, Mary Etta Phillips, Blonnie Riley and Nettie Walter. She is survived by 2 daughters: Ina and her husband Eddie Kembel of Madisonville, KY June and her husband Kenny Tucker of Slaughters, KY 3 sons: Steve and his wife Debbie Austin of Slaughters, KY Anthony and his wife Donna Austin of Slaughters, KY Paul and his wife Rama Austin of Slaughters, KY 2 sisters: Wilma Russell of FL Lou Kissinger of Owensboro 11 Grandchildren 26 Great Grandchildren Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Mt. Gilead General Baptist in Slaughters, KY. Located on Old Dixon-Slaughters Rd., off of highway 120. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Bro. Steve Dame and Bro. Harry Baldwin. Visitation will be 3:30 PM – 8 PM Friday March 20 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel and 9-11 AM Saturday March 21 at Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church in Slaughters, KY. Pallbearers will be Eric Austin, Jonathan Austin, Mark Austin, Ryan Austin, Joe Whitfield and Kenny Whitfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
