Thelma (Gamblin) Cato – On Thursday August 7, 2008 the good Lord called Thelma (Gamblin) Cato home at the age of 99 years, 361 days. She was a resident at NHC Healthcare facility in Madisonville, KY. She was born in Hopkins County, KY on August 11, 1908 to the late Sherwood and Sarah Ann (Furlough) Gamblin. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY. She loved spending time with her family, was an avid gardener into her later years and enjoyed walking. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Franklin Cato, son; Wallace Sherwood Cato, 2 grandsons; Terry Melton and Darrel Young, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 daughters; Norma Jean and husband, caretaker Paul Melton of Madisonville, KY Joyce Ann and husband Earl Young of Madisonville, KY Daughter-in-law Vonnie Cato of Madisonville, KY 9 Grandchildren Several great and great great grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews Services will be held Sunday August 10, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY. Bro. George Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 and Sunday 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be; Ken Leggett, Jason Phelps, Mark Melton, Eddie Melton, Donnie Cato, Gary Cato, Keith Cato and Scott Cato. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Young and Paul Melton.
