Thelma Nadine Garland

Thelma Nadine Garland age 81 of Madisonville, KY passed away at 4:26 p.m. Saturday 02-28-09 at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY. She was born February 24, 1928 in Hopkins County to Luther Ellis and Ella Edna Jenkins Grant. She was a homemaker and a member of the Earlington General Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband William E. Simons in 1970, her second husband Arthur Garland in 2005, one sister Christine Eudena Patterson and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters Barbara Johnston and her husband David of Laurens, SC, Joanne Woodford and her husband Ray of Madisonville, KY, one son Danny Simons and his wife Sharon of Earlington, KY, two sisters Laura Johnston of Earlington, KY, Edna Jones of Glasgow, KY, two brothers Luther Grant of Earlington, KY, Clyde Grant of Madisonville, KY, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, on step grandchild, two step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday 03-04-09 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. David Johnston and Bro. Phillip Bennett officiating. Her burial will be Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington,KY. Her visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday 03-03-09 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY and from 9:00 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
