Thelma "Shorty" Rose Skaggs

Thelma Rose “Shorty” (Smith) Skaggs, 83, of Reed passed away Monday October 3, 2022 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

She was born in Stanley, Kentucky on October 6, 1938 to the late John and Myrtle (Bryant) Smith.

Shorty was a member of Beals Pentecostal Church. She loved her family, grandkids, going to church and playing the organ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Eugene “Doc” Skaggs.

Survivors include three children Rick Skaggs of Henderson, Barry Skaggs of Reed, Mike Skaggs (Lynn) of Owensboro; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
