Thomas Amon Cavanaugh, 87, of Henderson, KY passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home. He was born September 20, 1930 in Nortonville, KY, to the late Daniel and Addie (Winsett) Cavanaugh. Mr. Cavanaugh was a retired electrician from Alcoa in Newburgh, IN and served his country in the Navy from 1952-56. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Cavanaugh; son in law, Mike Wilson; and brother in laws, O'Neal Lewis and Kenneth Phaup. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma Cavanaugh of Henderson; daughters, Pamela Wilson of Sebring, FL and Peggy Phillips (Mark) of Henderson; sisters, Martha Lewis, Esther Strader (Doug), Carolyn Phaup, and Rita Yandell (Larry); brother, Jimmy Cavanaugh (Juanita); sister in law, Jeannie Cavanaugh; four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY with Rev. Doug Strader officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Anthony's Hospice, 2410 S. Green Street, Henderson, KY 42420, with grateful hearts to Susan, Karen, Christina and Lindsay.
