Thomas Robert Speiser

Thomas Robert Speiser, 76, of Henderson, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Anthony Hospice/Lucy Smith King Care Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 24, 1945 to the late Robert Theodore and the late Elizabeth Matilda (Bach) Speiser. Tom received his BS degree from Murray State University in KY and his MS degree in Physical Education from Springfield College in Massachusetts.  He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Henderson.  Tom was a man of few words, a gentle soul with strong values and loved by everyone who knew him.  He worked hard even in his retirement years, loved racquetball and visiting family in IA, AZ, FL and CA.  True to his New England roots, a good seafood dinner was always welcome! Rest in heavenly peace Tom.  We loved you so much and we miss you. Tom is survived by his sisters, Roberta “Bobbie” Turner of Naples, FL and Lisa Speiser of West Des Moines, IA; niece, Jennifer Perry of Prescott, AZ; nephew, Jay Turner (Stephanie) of Danville, CA; great niece, Taylor; great nephews, Spencer, Matthew and Ashton; cousins, Christine Harrison (Jack) of Waterford, CT, Patricia Cain (Dan) of South Windsor, CT, and Carl Bach (Linda) of Rocky Hill, CT. A Memorial Service and a private burial will be scheduled at a later date. Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations in Tom’s honor may be given to St. Anthony Hospice/Lucy Smith King Care Center or Trinity Lutheran Church in Henderson.
