Vernie Garland Matthews, 79, formerly of Henderson passed away Wednesday July 4, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. He was born in Grayson County to Alvie and Effie (Bozarth) Matthews on February 25, 1933. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James Matthews and William Ray Matthews. He is survived by 3 Brothers: Eugene Matthews Charles (Linda) Matthews Randell (Donnia) Matthews all of Henderson 1 Sister: Viola Matthews Casey of Hartford, KY Nieces and Nephews Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday July 8, 2012 at Country view Church. Bro. Gary Ashby will officiate. Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel is handling arrangements.
