Wallace Donovan Duncan

Wallace Donovan Duncan, 74 of Slaughters passed to his heavenly home on August 16th, 2014. He was born on December 29th, 1939 in Hopkins County to the late Elbert Donovan Duncan and Goldie Ipock Duncan. He was a deacon at Slaughters Baptist Church, a member of the Gideon’s International, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was retired from the Webster County Board of Commission. He was an avid bowler, and was Kentucky State Doubles champion in 1971. He was a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Michele Duncan and two sisters, Barbara Duncan and Dorothy Byrum. Survivors include his wife, Rita Herron Duncan of Slaughters, two daughters, Cynthia (Jimmy) Goff of Slaughters, Lisa (Jeff) Jackson of Montgomery, Alabama, his son Matthew (Dawn) Duncan of Louisville, five sisters, Dean Hight of Madisonville, Nina Almon of Madisonville, Carolyn Faulk of Madisonville, Rita Chadwick of Madisonville, and Linda Scott of White Plains two brothers, Wayne Duncan of Princeton, and Randy Duncan of Nortonville, five granddaughters, Jennifer (Brandon) Clark, Barbara (Brandon) McIntosh, Leslie (Jeremy) Brown, Haley Duncan, Harper Duncan, and two grandsons Joshuah (Amy) Jackson and Josef Jackson, and four great-grandchildren, Hayden Clark, Hannah Clark, Melanie Brown, and Mackenzie McIntosh and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Slaughters Baptist Church Tuesday, August 19th at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Andrew Sexton officiating. Burial will be at Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, August 18th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 11:00 until service time on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Matthew Duncan, Brandon Clark, Jeremy Brown, Joshuah Jackson, Josef Jackson, Robert Duncan, Terry Duncan, and Chris Duncan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Hight, Hayden Clark, and David Shemwell. In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice, Gideon’s International and Slaughters Baptist Church Building Fund.
