Wallas Newton Bell, MD, 82 of Henderson, passed away on March 5, 2016 at his home. He was born in Sturgis, Kentucky on October 16, 1933 to the late William Arnold Bell and Lillian Slaton Bell. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 1952, Western Kentucky University in 1956, University of Louisville in 1960, and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Dr. Bell began his practice in Union County from 1961-1975 where he was instrumental in helping develop Union County Hospital. He practiced in Southern California from 1977-1983, and in the Henderson area until 2008. He loved practicing medicine, flying, and he sang tenor in the First Christian Church Choir, where he was a member. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Billy Bell, his sister Ann Waddlington, and grandchildren Johnny and Joseph Harder. He is survived by his wife: Evina (Jewell) Bell Son: David (Amanda) Bell Daughter: Judy (Doug) Kreider Step Daughters: Janice (John) Harder Tammy (Brian) Jewell Sister: Betty June Croft13 Grandchildren Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9 at First Christian Church in Henderson with Reverend Amy Cates officiating. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis, Kentucky. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 6:00 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel and Wednesday from 8:30 until service hour at the First Christian Church. Memorial contributions can be made to First Christian Church.
