Wayne Martin, passed away on May 13, 2026, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. Born on September 20, 1950, in Yakima, Washington, Wayne's life was marked by adventure, skill, and steadfast faith.
Wayne's expertise and passion for training racehorses earned him respect and admiration throughout his career. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Wayne was a firm believer in Jesus Christ, a man of deep faith who found joy in both his spiritual life and the practical art of fixing and tinkering. His talents were wide-ranging; he could repair anything from bikes to washers, plumbing, and electrical systems-skills that spoke to his resourcefulness and willingness to help those around him.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Susan Martin. Together, they shared a life full of love and commitment. His children, Brendon Martin, Tanya Lawlis, Tasha Farley, John Martin (Amanda), Tessa Wilson, Teresa Kaulia (Dane), and Kristy Childress (Scotty), carry forward his legacy of strength and perseverance. Wayne also leaves behind nineteen devoted grandchildren: Katelyn Martin, Devin Martin, Jessica Furman, Kortney Furman, Alexus Lawlis, Korbin Lawlis, Jack Martin, Caleb Jagnandan, Tyson Jagnandan, Johanna Jagnandan, Jonnie Cotten, Leilani Kaulia, Alana Kaulia, Raiden Kaulia, Rachel Hauke, Renae Furman, Rebekah Collins, Joseph Childress, and Tiffany Grantham, and numerous great grandchildren.
Wayne's siblings, Sandy Martin, Debbie Martelli (John), Don Martin, and Crystal Dunlap, also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Martin and Elaine (Werre) Martin; his brother, Tim Martin; and his daughter, Terra Martin. These losses were profound, yet the memory and spirit of Wayne remain deeply ingrained in the hearts of all who knew him.
