William Clyde Bridges, Sr.

William Clyde Bridges, 82, of Henderson, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.  He was born on January 6, 1936 in Gracey, Kentucky to the late Earl Wills Bridges, Sr. and Madge (Robertson) Bridges.  He was a retired Research Agromogist who throughout the years had worked for: Northup King, Novartis, Syngenta, Monsanto and Dekalb.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Angie Gish Bridges, 2 brothers Earl W. Bridges, Jr., James Bridges, 2 sisters Marie Royster and Carol Qualls.  Survivors include his wife Geralene Bridges, 2 children William Bridges, Jr. and wife Jerri of Henderson, Patricia Bridges Snodgrass and husband Rick of Madisonville, step-son Harold Courtney and wife Holly of Henderson, 2 sisters Dorothy Powell of Little Dixie, Mary Cheaney and husband Lewis of Henderson, 2 brothers Jerry Bridges and wife Sally of Vienna, Virginia, Ralph Bridges and wife Faye of Henderson, sister-in-law Emily Bridges of Henderson, 2 grandchildren Matthew Bridges and wife Elizabeth of St. Louis, Missouri, Courtney Steele and husband Tristan of Madisonville, 1 great-grandson Jay Bridges, 3 step-grandsons William, Matthew, Nathan, 4 step-great-grandsons Denver, Declan, Hunter, Gaige, 3 step-great-granddaughters Grace, Scarlett, Oaklyn, several nieces and nephews.   Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday January 11, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Bro. Dennis Mayfield will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wendesday 4-8PM and Thursday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.  Pallbearers will be Matt Gish, Cory Bridges, David Uhr, John Green, Matt Farmer, Randy Holley, Randy McElroy and Ben Cheaney.
