William Eugene "Billy Gene" Cambron, 78, of Smith Mills, KY passed away on February 12, 2017 at his home. He was born on June 12, 1938 to the late George William and Mary Ruby (Thomas) Cambron. He retired August of 2000 after 25 years in the Fish and Wildlife as a conservation officer, served as Henderson City Policeman for 8 years, was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially looked forward to his annual Kansas hunting trip, loved spending time with family and friends, was a US Army Veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus, and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Joyce Faye (Stone) Cambron, 4 Children: Stacy Thompson of Florida, Sally Bradley (Jeff) of Robards, KY, Greg Larue (Debbie) of Smith Mills, KY, and Phillip Larue (Cindy) of Henderson, KY; 3 sisters Midge Greenwell (Billy) of Eddyville, KY, Harriet Hite (Kenny) of Henderson, KY, and Martha Alvey (Bernie) of Waverly, KY; 2 brothers: Johnny Cambron (Tisha) of Morganfield, KY and Scotty Cambron (Susie) of Henderson, KY; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday February 16, 2017 at 12:00PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Larry McBride officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 4:00-8:00PM and Thursday 9:00-11:30AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Burial will be held at Old Cedar Grove Cemetery in Tilden, KY.
